Meliá Serengeti Lodge

Meliá Serengeti Lodge is a luxury eco‑lodge tucked into the southern slopes of Nyamuma Hills in Serengeti National Park, offering spectacular views over the Mbalageti River Valley and the Serengeti plains.
The lodge has 50 elegantly designed rooms: 24 Meliá Lagoon View rooms on the ground floor, 24 Savannah Panoramic rooms on the first floor, plus two Serengeti suites. The suites are spacious and well-equipped, with a lounge area, a bathtub, a separate shower, and large private terraces.  All rooms are fitted with in‑room coffee/tea facilities, a safety box, Wi‑Fi, a mini‑bar, and mosquito gauze.
On the sustainability front, Meliá Serengeti is very forward-thinking: it generates about 45% of its electricity via solar panels, relies on a biogas plant for waste, and even has its own glass bottling plant to minimize plastic waste.  Rainwater is harvested, and natural ventilation forms part of the design so that air‑conditioning use is minimized.

For dining, the lodge offers multiple restaurant experiences:
  • Savannah Restaurant — open kitchen, buffet-style, with views over the plains.
  • Savannah Grill — a terrace restaurant with live grilling stations.
  • Boma Restaurant — a more intimate, fine-dining option, set in a traditional Maasai-style building.
There are also a couple of bars for cocktails, local wines, and tapas.

When you need to unwind, the lodge doesn’t disappoint: there’s an infinity pool overlooking the Serengeti, a spa, and a 24-hour fitness centre.
As for safari experiences, guests can do game drives, walking safaris, or even take hot-air balloon rides.
The lodge is very family-friendly — there are interconnected rooms, suites that work for families, and special experiences for children.
